Objectives:

This workshop aims to provide an opportunity for international researchers to share and review recent advances in the foundations, integration architectures and applications of hybrid and adaptive systems in real-time robotics.

 

 

Workshop Site:

The workshop will be held at Massey University, Albany campus in Auckland, New Zealand, the “City of Sails”.  It is just a few minutes away from the lush green reserves and beautiful beaches of the East Coast Bays, and within walking distance from New Zealand’s largest mall, Westfield Albany.

·        Automation: Process Automation, Planning and Scheduling; Nano-scale Automation and Assembly; Biomedical Instrumentation; Modelling and Simulation

·        Robotics: Humanoid and Mobile Robotics; Search and Rescue; Bio-robotics; Tele-robotics; Mechanism Design and Applications

 

Paper Submission: 

A full paper in English, with page limit of 8 pages must be

formatted using the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) format. 

It should provide substantial details and discussion on the original research contribution.  Accepted papers will be published in the LNCS Springer series, and selected papers will be invited for publication in special issues of journals after the conference.(http://iconip08.softcomputing.org/openconf/openconf.php)

 

Deadline for Paper Submission:                     Aug. 31, 2008       Sept. 15, 2008

 

Extended Deadline for late submission: 20th of October 2008, reviews to be received by end of October 2008.  Late registration fee applicable.

 

Fees:  Registered participants for the workshop are entitled to attend both the ICONIP 2008 conference at the Sky City Convention Centre, CBD Auckland, and the workshop at Massey University, including a short tour of Long Bay beach (subject to change with the number of participants).  The fee for registration is 300 USD for students and 500 USD for non-students.
