By the end of 2023, I will have completed Part One or Part Two
If you have completed Part One or Part Two by the end of the 2023 academic year, you will need to enrol in another New Zealand university’s BE(Hons) and transfer your Massey University credits towards an appropriate major. You may also be able to change major in some cases.
Transfer to:
Massey University BFoodTech(Hons)
Students who have completed Part One or Part Two of the BE(Hons) Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering can transfer directly to the Bachelor of Food Technology at Massey with no additional courses or semesters of study. You can apply for admission to the BFoodTech in your Massey Student Portal.
University of Auckland BE(Hons) Chemical and Materials Engineering major
Students who have completed Part One can transfer to the University of Auckland BE(Hons) Chemical and Materials major. Students will need to complete CHEMMAT 121 – Materials Science in summer school starting in January and can credit other Part One Massey courses. Students may also consider a transfer to other UoA qualifications if they wish to consider a change of major.
Students who have completed Part Two of the BE(Hons) Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering can be accommodated in the University of Auckland BE(Hons) Chemical and Materials major but will need individual assessment for credit transfer.
For more details see UoA – Options for Massey transfers to UoA.pdf
Students considering these options are advised to contact Meng Wai Woo wai.woo@auckland.ac.nz for assistance with planning their studies as soon as possible.
University of Canterbury BE(Hons) Chemical and Process Engineering major
In most cases, a direct transfer from Massey University to the BE(Hons) Chemical and Process Engineering major at the University of Canterbury is possible at any year level. However, each case will require individual assessment of the courses completed at Massey. Students are advised to contact the Director of Studies ken.morison@canterbury.ac.nz to discuss their study plans as soon as possible if they are considering transferring.
University of Waikato BE(Hons) Chemical and Biological Engineering major
In most cases, students can directly transfer from Massey University to the BE(Hons) Chemical and Process Engineering major at the University of Waikato. You will receive credit for all Massey courses and proceed into the relevant year at UoW. Completed practicums will also be credited.
