Associate Professor Ralph Bathurst
Ralph is a leadership scholar focusing on the arts of leadership and the aesthetics of organisations. He's published in Leadership, Journal of Management Inquiry, International Journal of Arts Management, ephemera: theory & politics in organization and Philosophy of Management. His interest is in arts organisations and their sustainability, focusing on how the arts can influence business practice.
Dr Sarah Dodds
Dr Sarah Dodds has over 15 years of experience teaching marketing at the tertiary level. She also owned a health business and began her marketing career in New Zealand tourism. Her expertise lies in Consumer Behaviour and Services Marketing with a healthcare emphasis. Underlying her work is the philosophy marketing can contribute positively to society and specifically to people's well-being.
Dr Kazunori Kobayashi
Kazunori's research interests are in corporate social responsibility (CSR), sustainability practices and strategies, human and social sustainability, wellbeing, sustainable development goals and enterprise, and business ethics.
Dr Harvey Nguyen
Harvey is a Senior Lecturer at Massey Business School and Deputy Director of the Sustainability & CSR Research Group. He has published in internationally recognized journals and won several Best Paper Awards (such as the winner of the Best Overall Paper (Prize & Trophy) at New Zealand Finance Colloquium 2020) and competitive research grants. He serves on the editorial board of several journals.
Associate Professor Nitha Palakshappa
Nitha is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Communication, Journalism and Marketing, and lectures in Marketing Strategy and Management.
Dr Aymen Sajjad
Aymen is a Senior Lecturer in Sustainability and Business Management. His research focuses on sustainability issues that confront organisations and societies. Aymen's research interests include sustainable supply chain management, green supply chain management, business sustainability, corporate social responsibility, United Nations sustainable development goals, and sustainable business strategy.
Associate Professor David Tappin
David teaches courses in HR/ER, Decent Work and Project Management and supervises postgraduate students. He is a co-director of the Healthy Work Group – a research team involved in evaluating and addressing psychosocial risks and interventions in work, and a member of the human ethics committee in Auckland.

Dr Sitong Chen
"My research topic is Sustaining Cross-cultural Leadership: New Zealand and Chinese Business Partnerships. I am studying how Chinese and New Zealand companies establish and sustain business partnerships in New Zealand.
With the rise of investment in New Zealand from China, it is a timely study that will assist companies to manage their cultural partnerships. My study will help identify factors that will ensure these partnerships become firmly established and flourish over time."
Dr Shobod Nath
"My PhD research title was Embedding Synergistic Sustainability into Global Supply Chains: Investigating Apparel SME Suppliers of Bangladesh.
This study primarily explored the reasons behind the current CSR and sustainability practices adopted by Bangladeshi export-oriented apparel SME suppliers and how they embed synergistic sustainability into their core business decisions as globally responsible local entities."
Minh Nguyen
Minh Nguyen is a PhD student in the School of Management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Technology Sydney (Australia), an MBA in Finance from the University of Stirling (UK) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Portsmouth (UK).
His PhD thesis aims to theoretically and empirically understand corporate social responsibility in SMEs in developing countries through an exploration of the underlying assumptions and reasons for the CSR engagement among SMEs in Vietnam. This study contributes to CSR literature by exploring the dynamic interaction between the individual agency of owner-managers and institutional pressures regarding CSR and highlighting the interplay between the economic and non-economic motivations that underlie CSR.
Ting Ding
Ting is a Visiting PhD student from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, China.
Her research Topic: The impact of digital transformation on social responsibility in platform enterprises: a textual analysis
Platform enterprises are changing our business world, and their CSR deserves more attention. In the context of digital transformation, the new characteristics of platform enterprises' CSR and the mechanisms through which digital transformation affects their CSR performance have attracted wide attention. This study aims to combine perspectives from management and linguistics to explore the effects of digital transformation on social responsibility in platform enterprises from the aspect of textual evidence. It will also examine the mechanisms through which digital transformation impacts the fulfilment of social responsibility in platform enterprises, using a large volume of textual data.
