Accommodation office contactsExperience comfort, convenience and community in our catered halls of residence. Pūkeko, Tui, and Weka halls are suitable for students aged 17 to 30, and offer a welcoming environment.
These are catered halls, providing two meals per day. You'll be well-fed and fuelled for your studies with lunch and dinner Monday to Friday, and brunch and dinner on weekends.
Enjoy internet/wifi access and Massey gym membership, as well as nearby facilities and common areas in Te Rito hub, including the music room, TV lounge, laundry, patio, and social rooms.
Pūkeko, Tui, and Weka halls are conveniently located close to student facilities, including Student Central, the library, lecture theatres, and the recreation centre, as well as buses to Auckland city centre.
Rooms and furniture
Enjoy fully furnished single rooms designed for comfort and convenience, with a total of 210 rooms available across Pūkeko, Tui, and Weka halls.
Here's what you can expect in each fully furnished single room:
- King single bed – rest comfortably on a spacious king single bed, complete with a mattress and mattress protector for a good night's sleep.
- Study area – study from the comfort of your own room. Your room includes a designated study desk, chair, and desk light.
- Shelf, pinboard, and wardrobe with a mirror – you will have plenty of storage space for your clothes, books, and personal items.
- Heater – for a cozy and comfortable living environment year-round.
- Privacy and security – enjoy peace of mind with a lockable door, ensuring privacy and security for each resident.
At Massey, we promote autonomy and independence in maintaining a tidy and organised living space. You are responsible for cleaning your own room.
Items you should bring
By bringing along these essential items, you'll be well-prepared for your stay in Pūkeko, Tui, or Weka hall and can settle in comfortably from day one:
- Bedding and towels – ensure a comfortable sleep by bringing your own bedding, including sheets, blankets, and pillows. Don't forget to pack towels for personal use.
- Clothing hangers – keep your wardrobe organized with clothing hangers for hanging clothes in your wardrobe.
- Toiletries and toiletries bag – bring along your toiletries, such as toothpaste, shampoo, and soap, and store them in a toiletries bag for easy access.
- Laundry basket – stay organized with a laundry basket for collecting dirty clothes and transporting them to the laundry facilities.
- Laundry powder – stock up on laundry powder to keep your clothes clean and fresh throughout your stay.
- Cleaning products – keep your living space tidy by bringing cleaning products such as surface cleaner and wipes.
Optional
- Electric fan – while each room has an opening window, you may also wish to bring an electric fan to cool your room during the summer months.
- Small fridge – consider bringing a small fridge with a capacity of around 47L to store snacks and beverages. Remember to place it on a waterproof mat to prevent damage to the floor.
Bathrooms
There are shared bathroom facilities on each floor of Pūkeko, Tui, and Weka halls, easily accessible from all rooms on the floor.
To minimise wait times and ensure convenience for all residents, we provide 1 bathroom per 3 residents.
Bathrooms are regularly cleaned and maintained by our cleaning staff.
Meal plans and dining
If you are living in Pūkeko, Tui or Weka halls, you'll get daily meals in the dining hall or via our Time2Eat app.
Your meal plan provides you with two meals each day:
- Monday to Friday – lunch and dinner
- Saturday and Sunday – brunch and dinner
Dining hall
You will find the dining hall at Student Central, next to the accommodation village. The dining hall offers a range of food choices which change daily. Use your student ID card to receive your meals.
Time2Eat app
You don't always have to take your meals in the dining hall. If you feel like a takeaway, you can download the Time2Eat app on your device:

Our meal plan and dining services are designed to ensure you have access to meals throughout your stay, making your life easier and more enjoyable.
Social spaces
Each floor of our halls features a communal social hub accessible 24/7. Hang out and chat to your friends, or enjoy your favourite shows and movies on our TV.
Store your food and drinks in the communal fridge and freezer – remember to label them! We also provide a microwave, toaster, sandwich press and water boiler so you can prepare breakfast, snacks and hot drinks.

Payment options
Our payment options are flexible to suit your financial preferences.
You can choose to pay by semester or full year. If you are a domestic student, you also have the option to pay on a weekly basis by direct debit.
Deposit
When your application for accommodation is successful, you will be sent an offer. You will need to pay a deposit on acceptance of this offer to secure your place in halls
To guarantee your place, you need to pay the deposit by the offer expiry date stated in your offer letter.

Payment process
Follow the instructions provided in your offer letter to make the deposit payment. Payment methods and deadlines will be outlined in the offer letter.
Once your deposit is received and processed, you will receive your confirmation of place and further instructions about move-in dates and procedures.
Withdrawal and refund eligibility
To secure a refund of the bond, mattress protector and activity fee, you must cancel before the specified deadline. The processing fee is non-refundable and will not be included in the refund amount.
Withdrawal deadline
- Returning halls residents – cancellations must be received by 1 December 2024.
- New hall residents – cancellations must be received by 23 January 2025.
