Your enrolment for study at Massey University does not include automatic registration with the Student Health and Counselling Centre.
If you're a full-time student at Massey, you can enrol with your campus student health centre as your primary healthcare provider. This means the cost of your care is subsidised by the centre's Primary Healthcare Organisation (PHO), so appointments cost you less than at other health centres. Casual patients may have limited access, and likely to be directed to an alternative health care provider.
Find out about these cost differences and other charges for student health centre services.
If you're studying by distance, you can register with the campus health centre closest to you.
Make student health your primary healthcare provider
Fill in the form for your campus to make your campus student health centre your primary healthcare provider. Please do this as soon as possible after you become a Massey student.
You need to print out the form, fill it in and sign it, and take it into the health centre. You can also get a copy of the form at the health centre.

International students
International students can register at a campus student health care centre. If you have Studentsafe insurance you don’t need to make an insurance claim each time you visit a doctor or nurse at our health centres as this is done automatically, unless it is related to a pre-existing condition.
You can choose to register at a clinic or health centre outside of a Massey campus instead. Your partner and family can't register at student health care centres, even though you can get Studentsafe insurance for them.

Community Services Cards
Most full-time domestic students qualify for a Community Services Card. We encourage you to apply for one, as this may further reduce what you pay for health centre services.
Find out more about the Community Services Card on the Ministry of Social Development's Work and Income website.
