Annu Mehta MSci

Research Officer - Feast

School of Food Technology and Natural Sciences

Dr Annu Mehta is a skilled sensory scientist and food technologist, with extensive experience working on a range of food products and beverages. She completed her PhD at Lincoln University, where her research focused on the influence of various packaging materials on consumer emotions and perceptions. Dr. Mehta’s work explored the psychological and physiological responses of consumers to packaging and examined how these affects product acceptability.

In addition to her research, she has been involved in new product development, with a focus on evaluating how different food textures influence the product’s mouthfeel perception. She applied advanced tribological techniques and Temporal Dominance of Sensations (TDS) analysis to investigate these sensory changes.
