Campus revitalisation

Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa Massey University campus reimagining process.

Overview

It’s an exciting time for Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa Massey University as we seek to reimagine the future of our three campuses in Manawatū, Auckland and Wellington. We want our campuses to be vibrant and exciting places to study and work, where we connect to our local communities and attract like-minded partners who share our vision for a brighter and better Aotearoa New Zealand.

There are excellent examples internationally of vibrant university campuses and how they benefit students, and Massey has an opportunity to play a leading role in redefining what a vibrant university campus can look like in 21st-century Aotearoa.

To progress this work, we're holding reimagining workshops on each campus, starting in the Manawatū, to offer our communities the opportunity to reflect and imagine the possibilities of how our three campuses could look and feel.

These workshops are an important thread in the fabric of Massey’s successful and sustainable future and ensure we're meeting our current and future needs. Your ideas, big and small, are important to us.

The date and time of the Manawatū workshop for staff and students is below.

We'll let you know the dates for the Ōtehā Auckland and Pukeahu Wellington campus reimagining workshops as soon as they are confirmed.

Outcomes and updates

Understanding the views of mana whenua, staff, students, and wider stakeholders is an important part of the university’s decision-making process. This engagement process will help us make the right decisions about the land and property the university owns.

We'll analyse your feedback and share the findings with the university’s leadership, staff and students on how attendees think we can achieve successful and sustainable Massey campuses. The findings will help to inform a master plan for each campus, which considers the connection between buildings, social settings and the surrounding environments.
